I live in Southern California and will be helping a newcomer to the political arena who has an uphill battle against a Democratic incumbent who has been in power for several years (mainly Democratic area). There has been no one to run against this incumbent until this year. My Republican friend has no money. I was so encouraged by your story that I mailed it to him. I would like to know if you won your race by mostly organizing a grass roots volunteer network. But how did you get started?
