		<description>It would be hard to find anyone who doesn&#039;t more or less agree with what you are saying here.  We need good teachers, we should pay good teachers well.  However, how many good teachers have we turned away?  Do we have a surplus of better teachers that go unhired? If we paid more would we really attract better teachers, or would we just be spending more for the same teachers?  I wonder if this isn&#039;t a bit like the texting while driving &quot;law,&quot;  we don&#039;t need more well intentioned legislation, we need parents to take part in the process and demand action from their school boards.  Just like so many areas of my life, I don&#039;t need the &quot;10 pound heads&quot; in Washington or DesMoines to run my life, but I do need to be awake at the wheel.  Before we rush to pass more laws, let&#039;s make sure we know our students, teachers and administrators, both appointed and elected.</description>
